At St. Gabriel, we are committed to walking with families during times of loss with compassion, prayer, and pastoral care. The Church’s funeral rites offer comfort and hope in the promise of Christ’s Resurrection, while honoring the life of your loved one with dignity and reverence. When a death occurs, families are asked to contact the parish office as soon as possible to begin planning the Funeral Mass or Funeral Liturgy.

Parish staff will guide you through the process, including selecting Scripture readings, music, and other liturgical details. The Catholic funeral typically includes three parts: the Vigil (wake service), the Funeral Mass (or Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass), and the Rite of Committal at the cemetery.

The Funeral Mass is a celebration of the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we entrust our loved one to God’s mercy and eternal care. Our parish community keeps grieving families in prayer and stands ready to provide support during this difficult time. For assistance with funeral arrangements, please contact the parish office.
