Before and After Our Church Renovation

On June 6, 2010 we celebrated our final Mass in the old church before it was renovated. That mass also commemorated the closing of St. Gabriel Elementary School and its consolidation with St. Michael’s Elementary and Ritter Junior & Senior High Schools. It was followed by a parish picnic. On February 6, 2011 Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein dedicated and consecrated our new church.

Here are links to photo galleries of these events and to “before & after” 360 degree panoramas of our sanctuary and gathering space to show the results of this beautiful renovation. Also included is a link where you can purchase a poster of these 360 degree panoramas.

Final Construction Photos Online

Our photo gallery now includes a collection of many slideshows of construction photos that show stage by stage how are renovation project has progressed. Starting with the first demolition in early June all the way up until the finishing touches which are now being applied. In addition to our own photo collection you can also see our new furnishings being created at Weberding Woodcarving Shop.

We are now using the Google Picasa photo album service to store our photo galleries. This new format will allow you to view a slideshow from within our website or you can click a link to go to the Picasa photo album page which will allow you to zoom in on the photos for a closer view. The photos are captioned and you can comment on each photo from Picasa webpage. We hope you enjoy this new format for presenting our photos. Leadership Blog Debuts with Financial Report

We are happy to announce a new feature to our website. Our “Staff and Leadership” section has been updated in the form of a new leadership blog. Here you will find the latest information from our Parish Pastoral Council, Finance Commission, Faith Formation Commission, and school leadership about the inner workings of this parish and the work that they are doing to keep things running smoothly.

To kick things off, we posted the financial report which was delivered by the finance commission at all of the masses this past weekend of 16-17. So if you forgot to pick up a financial report or you were not able to attend mass at St. Gabriel this weekend you can see the financial report material that was distributed.

Coming soon to this new leadership section will be photos and biographies of all the staff and lay leadership as well as overviews of what each of our commissions and committees is responsible for in this parish.

360° Panorama "Before" Images Available

When our church renovation is complete, we are going to want to compare the old and the new. We came up with the idea to take “before” and “after” images of the church. On Friday, May 28 we took a series of 11 photographs from a tripod in the center of the church. The photos were assembled into a 360° panorama that is over 34.5 megapixels. When our renovation is complete we will make a similar panorama for comparison. Click here to see this amazing image. We hope to have lots of images posted during our construction and in December when the project is complete we will create another panorama to compare with this one.
